Genetically Engineered Models and Services: Assisted Reproductive Technologies
Our Assisted Reproductive Technologies encompass a variety of services and protocols:
- Comprehensive fertility evaluation is the analysis of the cause of poor reproductive performance and the determination of the best action for overcoming infertility.
- In vitro fertilization (IVF) involves the fertilization of mature oocytes in a petri dish with capacitated sperm. IVF is used to generate large numbers of embryos, which can be cryopreserved or transferred to recipient females.
- Ovarian transplantation involves the transplantation of ovaries into histocompatible or immunodeficient recipients as a means of rescuing valuable lines.
- Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is the mechanical insertion of a single spermatozoan into a donor oocyte in order to induce fertilization. This technique may generate offspring with sperm cells inadequate to fertilize through natural mating, artificial insemination, or in vitro fertilization.
